distrorig makes vertical promo videos and UGC style ads for mobile apps. The AI agent opens your app's mobile web layout in a phone-sized browser and records it, and an AI creator introduces it on camera. For a native iOS or Android app, you upload your own screen recording instead.
Why video is hard for app teams
An app ad lives on a phone screen, in a feed, for a few seconds. It has to show the app working, on a phone, fast. Most teams get there by recording the screen by hand, editing it, and adding a person and a voice in other tools. Every new feature or new hook means doing it again.
UGC tools solve the person, not the app. They give you a creator who talks about the product, but the product itself never appears. A viewer who sees only a face has no reason to believe the claim.
Which formats suit a mobile app
| Format | Where it runs | Length | Page |
|---|---|---|---|
| App promo video | Your site, store listing, launch posts | 15 to 30 seconds | App promo video |
| TikTok ad | TikTok, organic or paid | 15 to 30 seconds | TikTok ads for apps |
| UGC ad | TikTok, Reels, Shorts | 15 to 30 seconds | AI UGC ads |
| Shorts ad | YouTube Shorts | 15 to 60 seconds | YouTube Shorts ads |
All of them are 9:16 vertical. A phone layout recording fills a vertical video without black bars.
An example: a 20 second ad for a habit tracker
This is the kind of plan the distrorig assistant writes with you. The app is a habit tracker with a mobile web version.
| Time | On screen | Said |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 3 s | Creator on a sofa, phone held at arm's length, "Shot on: Phone" | "I tried to drink more water for 3 years." |
| 3 to 8 s | Recording, phone layout: the agent taps New habit and types "Water, 8 glasses" | "This took 10 seconds." |
| 8 to 14 s | Recording: the agent taps the habit 3 times; the ring fills; a fingertip shows each tap | "One tap per glass. The ring fills up." |
| 14 to 18 s | Recording: the weekly streak screen; creator as a circle in the corner | "Day 12. I have never made it past day 4." |
| 18 to 20 s | Creator again, then the app's sign-up page | "It's free. Link in my bio." |
The agent records the middle shots in your real app, with your demo account's data. Captions follow the voice in the style you pick.
How the phone recording works
- Phone layout. The agent's browser behaves like a phone, so your product shows its mobile design.
- Sharp text. The recording is made at 2x pixel density, so text stays readable when the camera zooms.
- Taps, not a cursor. A fingertip shows each tap and a finger slides along each swipe.
- Pacing. The assistant can speed up slow parts, such as a loading screen.
What it does not do for apps
- Native apps. The AI agent does not operate native iOS or Android apps. It works only on products it can open in a browser, including mobile web layouts.
- The alternative. Record your app on your phone, then upload the file as product footage. distrorig adds the creator, the voiceover and the captions around it, with trim, speed and camera framing.
- Ad accounts. distrorig does not run or buy ads. It makes the video, posts to TikTok and YouTube, or gives you an MP4 to upload to your ad account.
