A product demo video shows your software doing one real task, start to finish. distrorig makes it without a screen recording from you: an AI agent opens your product, does the steps and records them, and an AI voice narrates. You get a 30 second cut for social feeds or a 90 second walkthrough for your site.
Which demo do you need?
Most teams need two demos of the same product. They answer different questions, so they are built differently.
| 30 second social cut | 90 second walkthrough | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it plays | TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Reels | Your homepage, a sales email, a YouTube video |
| Format | 9:16 vertical | 16:9 landscape |
| What it shows | One task and its result | Two or three tasks that make one workflow |
| Opening | A creator says the result in one line | The voiceover names the problem |
| Browser | Phone layout, so the product fills the frame | Desktop, 1280 by 800 |
| Camera | Close zoom on every click | Wider frame, zoom only on small details |
| Captions | Large, a few words at a time | Smaller, full lines, or none |
| Ends with | Your URL said and shown | Your sign-up page |
The same product, cut both ways
Here is one example product, an invoicing tool for freelancers, planned as both cuts.
30 second social cut (9:16)
| Time | Shot | Said |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 3 s | Creator to camera, shot on Phone | "I get paid in two days now, not two weeks." |
| 3 to 12 s | Recording: a new invoice, client picked, 2 lines added | "I make the invoice in under a minute." |
| 12 to 22 s | Recording: send, then the paid status turns green | "Clients pay by card from the email." |
| 22 to 30 s | Recording: the sign-up page | "Free for your first 3 clients." |
90 second walkthrough (16:9)
| Time | Shot | Said |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 10 s | Recording: a dashboard with 4 unpaid invoices | Why late payments hurt a freelancer's month |
| 10 to 40 s | Recording: create and send an invoice | Each field, and what the client receives |
| 40 to 65 s | Recording: set an automatic reminder | When reminders go out, and what they say |
| 65 to 80 s | Recording: the paid status and the payout | How money reaches the account |
| 80 to 90 s | Recording: the sign-up page | Where to start, and the price |
The recordings in both cuts come from the same product. The plans differ in pace, framing and what the first seconds say.
How to make one with distrorig
- Start a project and pick the format: 9:16 for the social cut, 16:9 for the walkthrough.
- Describe the demo in the chat. Say who watches it and the one task it must show.
- Give the product's URL and a demo login. Fill the demo account with realistic data first.
- Agree on the steps. The assistant writes the steps for the agent and the script. You edit them in Plan mode, which costs nothing.
- Let the agent record. It does each step in its own browser. You can watch live and correct it in the chat.
- Tidy the pace. The assistant speeds up slow parts and points the camera at the element that matters.
- Export an MP4, or post the 9:16 cut to TikTok or YouTube from distrorig.
What makes a demo easy to follow
- One task per cut. A tour of every feature leaves the viewer with nothing.
- Show the result early. The paid status, the finished report, the sent message.
- Real data. Names, numbers and dates that look like a real customer's account.
- Short steps. Each recording can be up to 5 minutes, but a social cut needs seconds per step.
- Sharp text. The agent records at 2x pixel density, so zoomed text stays readable.
When it is not the right tool
- If you want viewers to click through the product themselves, an interactive demo tool such as Supademo or Arcade fits better.
- If you want your own face and voice presenting live, a screen recorder with a camera, such as Loom or Tella, is faster.
- If the demo is a 20 minute training session, use a screen recorder. distrorig makes videos of 15 to 90 seconds.
- If your product is a native iOS or Android app, the agent cannot open it. Upload your own screen recording as product footage instead.
What it costs
A Pro plan is $49.99 a month or $479.88 a year. Recording, editing and export do not use the monthly allowance; generated shots and the AI voice do. See pricing.
