Where to send a notice

Our designated agent for copyright notices:

What a notice must contain

The law (17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)) asks for these things. A notice without them may not be valid.

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or a person allowed to act for the owner.
  2. The work you say is infringed. If there are several, a list of them.
  3. The content you say infringes it, with enough detail for us to find it, such as a link.
  4. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not allowed by the owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or allowed to act for the owner.

Do not send a notice unless you are sure. Under 17 U.S.C. 512(f), a person who knowingly makes false claims may have to pay damages.

What we do with a notice

We review it, and if it is valid we remove or disable the content. We tell the user who posted it and send them a copy of the notice. Videos already posted to YouTube or TikTok are on those platforms. To remove them there, use each platform's own copyright process.

How to send a counter notice

If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, you can send a counter notice to legal@distrorig.com. It must contain:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. The content that was removed and where it was before.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the content was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and phone number.
  5. A statement that you agree to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address, or, if you are outside the United States, any court where Rivvs LLC may be found. You also agree to accept service of process from the person who sent the notice.

We send the counter notice to the person who sent the original notice. We may restore the content in 10 to 14 business days, unless they tell us they have filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of users who infringe copyright again and again, in appropriate circumstances. We may also close an account after one serious case.
