Loom is for recording quick video messages for teammates and customers: you talk over your screen and share a link. distrorig is for marketing videos of software: an AI agent uses your product and records it, an AI creator introduces it, and an AI voice narrates. Keep Loom for messages; use distrorig for videos you post or run as ads.
Why look for a Loom alternative for marketing?
A Loom is a message. It is made to be watched by someone who already expects it, in a browser, with you on camera. A marketing video is watched by a stranger in a feed. It needs a vertical format, a hook in the first 2 seconds, captions for viewers with the sound off and a clear call to action.

When is Loom the better choice?
- Talking to people who know you. Updates, code reviews, bug reports, onboarding a new customer. A real face and voice matter there.
- Sales follow ups. A personal Loom to one prospect is more direct than any produced video.
- Speed. Press record, talk, send. No plan, no script.
- Team features. Comments, viewer insights, Slack and Jira integrations.
- Free use. The Starter plan is free. distrorig has no free plan.
When does distrorig fit better?
- The viewer is a stranger in a feed. distrorig plans the hook, the product shots and the call to action, and adds captions.
- You need vertical video. 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, from the same plan as a 16:9 cut.
- You do not want to be on camera. A generated creator says the lines, or an avatar made from your photo.
- You do not want to record. The agent does the clicks in its own browser, at 2x pixel density so text stays sharp when the camera zooms.
- You want to post from the same place. Connect TikTok or YouTube and schedule the video, then see views, likes, comments and shares.
What changes when a Loom becomes an ad?
| Loom habit | What a marketing video needs | How distrorig does it |
|---|---|---|
| "Hi, quick walkthrough..." | A hook that says the result in 2 seconds | The assistant writes hooks with you; make 3 and test them |
| Mouse moves while you think | Only the clicks that matter | The agent does the steps; slow parts are sped up |
| Small text on a wide screen | Readable on a phone | Phone layout recordings, auto zoom on clicks |
| Sound on | Sound off by default in feeds | Captions timed to the voice |
| Send a link | Post where the audience is | Post to TikTok or YouTube, now or scheduled |
How do I move a campaign over from Loom?
- Pick the Looms that convert. The flows you show most often in sales calls are the ones to turn into ads.
- Write each flow as a step for the agent, like "upload a file, share it with a teammate".
- Set up a demo account with sample data and give distrorig its login. It is encrypted at rest.
- Describe the video in the chat: platform, length and audience. The assistant proposes the shots.
- Optional: reuse footage. Download a Loom and upload it to the Library to use as product footage.
- Approve, generate and post. Keep using Loom for messages.
