An AI video ad generator makes a finished ad from a description, with no filming. Most are built for ecommerce: a generated person holds a product and talks about it. distrorig is built for software. An AI agent uses your product and records it, an AI creator introduces it on camera, and an AI voice narrates.
How is a software ad different from an ecommerce ad?
A physical product sells on how it looks and feels. Software sells on what happens on the screen. So the ads need different parts.
| Ecommerce ad | Software ad | |
|---|---|---|
| What the viewer must believe | It looks good and works as shown | It solves my problem, quickly |
| What proves it | The product in a hand, in use | The real interface doing the task |
| Where the product comes from | Product photos or a product page | The working product, signed in |
| What changes often | Price, offer, season | The interface, with every release |
| Typical first shot | Creator holding the product | Creator saying a result, or the result on screen |
| What makes it false | A product that looks better than it is | Screens that do not match the product |
The same idea, made both ways
Two example plans for a 15 second ad. One sells a water bottle; the other sells a budgeting app.
Ecommerce: an insulated water bottle
| Time | Picture | Said |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 3 s | Creator on a hike, holds up the bottle | "Ice at 5 pm. I filled it at 7 am." |
| 3 to 9 s | Close shots: the lid, the bottle in a bag | "It doesn't leak, and it fits a cup holder." |
| 9 to 15 s | Creator drinks, the price on screen | "Link's below, 20% off this week." |
Software: a budgeting app
| Time | Picture | Said |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 3 s | Creator at a kitchen table, shot on Phone | "I found $214 a month I was wasting." |
| 3 to 11 s | Recording: the app lists subscriptions, one is cancelled | "It lists every subscription. I cancelled 4." |
| 11 to 15 s | Recording: the monthly total drops; the sign-up page | "It's free to try. Search the name." |
Any ad generator can make the first plan. The second needs the middle shot from the real app, and that is the part distrorig records.
What distrorig generates, and what it records
| Part of the ad | Made how |
|---|---|
| Creator shots | Generated, 2 to 30 seconds each, after you approve a still of the look |
| The product on screen | Recorded by the AI agent in your product |
| Voiceover | One AI voice for the whole ad, or the creator's own voice |
| Captions | Timed to the voice, in 6 styles with custom fonts and colours |
| Music | Generated from a description, or your own file |
| Other shots | Generated, for example hands on a phone, a reaction, a busy office |
How to make one
- Describe the ad in the chat: the product, the viewer, the platform and the length.
- Give the product's URL and a login if the ad shows the product.
- Plan it together in Plan mode. The assistant can edit and make stills there, but no clip, voice or recording starts.
- Approve the stills of each person on camera. Clips are made only from a look you approved.
- Switch to Action. The agent records the product, and the shots, voice and captions are made.
- Edit by layer. Change one shot, one line or the music, and only that part is made again.
- Export the MP4, or post to TikTok or YouTube from distrorig.
When it is not the right tool
- If you sell a physical product, ecommerce ad tools such as Arcads or Creatify are built for it. See our roundup of AI UGC tools.
- If you want hundreds of ad variations from a product catalogue, use a tool built for catalogue ads. distrorig makes each ad as a project you plan.
- If you want the tool to buy and run the ads, distrorig does not do that. It makes the video.
- If your product is a native mobile app, the agent cannot open it. Upload your own screen recording as product footage.
What it costs
A Pro plan is $49.99 a month or $479.88 a year, with a monthly generation allowance. There is no free trial. See pricing.
