A SaaS explainer video says what problem your product solves and shows how, in 60 to 90 seconds. distrorig builds it from your real interface instead of animation. An AI agent uses your product and records each step, an AI voice explains it, and an AI creator can present it.
Real interface or animation?
Most explainer videos are animated: drawn characters, simplified screens, motion graphics. That works for some products and not others.
| Animated explainer | Real interface explainer (distrorig) | |
|---|---|---|
| What the buyer sees | A drawing of the idea | The product they will use |
| Made from | Storyboards, illustration, animation | A recording of your product, signed in |
| After a product release | Redraw the changed scenes | Record the changed steps again |
| Good for | Ideas with no screen, products not built yet, a strong brand style | Products where the interface is the value |
| Risk | Screens that look nothing like the product | An empty or messy demo account shows |
| Presenter | A drawn character, if any | An AI creator, or you from your own photo |
If buyers ask "what does it look like?" on sales calls, a real interface explainer answers that before the call.
A structure for 90 seconds
| Part | Seconds | What to show | What to say |
|---|---|---|---|
| Problem | 0 to 12 | Creator to camera, or the messy "before" (a spreadsheet, an inbox) | The problem in the buyer's words, with a number if you have one |
| Promise | 12 to 20 | The product's main screen | What changes, in one sentence |
| Step 1 | 20 to 40 | Recording: the first task | What the user does and why it is fast |
| Step 2 | 40 to 60 | Recording: the second task | What happens without the user doing anything |
| Step 3 | 60 to 75 | Recording: the result, a report, a sent item | What the buyer gets at the end |
| Call to action | 75 to 90 | Creator, or the sign-up page | One next step and where to go |
Three steps is the limit. A fourth step turns the video into a feature tour. Put extra features in a second video.
How to make it with distrorig
- Start a project in 16:9 and set the length to 60 or 90 seconds.
- Tell the assistant who the buyer is and the problem they have.
- Give the product's URL and a demo login. Load the account with data that looks like a real customer's.
- Agree on the three steps and the script. The assistant writes the steps for the agent in plain words, for example "create a project, invite a teammate".
- Choose a presenter, or none. Approve the creator's still before any clip is made.
- Let the agent record. It does each step and records it. The camera zooms on clicks, and the assistant can frame it on a named element.
- Set the voice and captions. One voice reads the whole script. Captions come in 6 styles.
- Export a 1920 by 1080 MP4 for your site, or change the format to 9:16 for a social cut.
When it is not the right tool
- If your product has no interface yet, or the value is invisible (an API, a data pipeline), animation explains it better.
- If you want a brand film with custom illustration, hire an animation studio.
- If the explainer runs past 90 seconds, or needs your own live voice, a screen recorder fits better.
- If you need the video in several languages, distrorig does not translate. Each language is its own video.
What it costs
A Pro plan is $49.99 a month or $479.88 a year. Recording and editing do not use the monthly allowance; generated shots and the voice do. See pricing.
